Thank you to everyone who came to the JRNA Annual Meeting on Sunday, March 8th. If you weren't able to be there, read on below to see what you missed!
Business Meeting
Brief overview of 2025 events and upcoming 2026 events. Reminder that event volunteers receive an extra raffle ticket at the annual picnic.
Financial Report - treasurer’s report was on each table. Mentioned that one of our larger expenses was getting new benches for the oasis that will be all season.
Shared that with city grants we were able to put paths in the prairie in the oasis, along with signage. We'll also get plants through city parks to put in in the spring. Working to replace grasses with native flowers.
Encouraged people to join Friends of the Park/Prairie, which is separate from JRNA members. They’re always looking for volunteers to help with planting/weeding throughout the season. Currently working to get 501c3 status for the organization.
Announced that JRNA will have a Farmers' Market this summer. Fridays, 9-1, May 15-Sept 25. UW Credit Union is sponsoring the market.
Board Member Nominations
Jennifer Ondrejka, Lynn Wiskowski, and Jayne Squirrel were up for re-election. There were no nominations made from the floor. All were elected unanimously.
Joann Prichett Presentation
